Biography
Beppe Grillo (born 1948) is one of Italy’s most famous comedians and satirists, who in 2009 co-founded the anti-establishment Five Star Movement (M5S) — for a time the largest party in the Italian parliament — before stepping back from its leadership.
AI is coming; share the spoils
On his long-running blog, Grillo treats mass automation and AI as inevitable and publishes a steady stream of pieces — some AI-assisted — arguing that the answer is not to halt the machines but to redistribute what they produce. He has backed a universal basic income and, echoing proposals like Bernie Sanders’s sovereign AI wealth fund, called for the public to hold an ownership stake in the AI giants.
