Jonas Brothers

Pop Trio

Chart-topping pop trio of brothers Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas. They signed the 2024 Artist Rights Alliance letter against predatory AI in music and later fronted an ad campaign mocking “AI slop.”

In their words

Cease the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to infringe upon and devalue the rights of human artists.

Biography

The Jonas Brothers — Kevin (born 1987), Joe (born 1989), and Nick (born 1992) — rose from New Jersey church-band beginnings to Disney Channel superstardom in the late 2000s, split acrimoniously in 2013, and staged one of pop’s great reunions in 2019 when “Sucker” debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

From open letter to “AI slop” satire

In April 2024, the trio joined more than 200 artists — including Billie Eilish and Katy Perry — on the Artist Rights Alliance open letter, which warned that AI trained on artists’ work without permission could replace human songwriters and “substantially dilute the royalty pools” they are paid from, while acknowledging AI’s “enormous potential” when used responsibly.

The brothers then took the argument to television. A 2025 Almond Breeze ad campaign cast them opposite overzealous marketers pitching absurd AI-generated concepts, with the band talking them back toward a human endorsement — a mainstream-brand satire of what the internet had come to call “AI slop.” The theme followed them into real life in 2026, when Charleston businesses posted fake AI images of Nick Jonas visiting their shops after a real concert appearance, and fans dissected the tell-tale glitches in the comments.
