Biography
Ann Wilson (born 1950) fronted Heart alongside her guitarist sister Nancy through five decades, from Dreamboat Annie (1975) and the hard-rock landmarks “Barracuda” and “Crazy on You” to the 1980s hits “These Dreams” and “Alone.” One of rock’s most imitated voices, she entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Heart in 2013 and was still touring arenas into the mid-2020s.
Calling out the AI slop machine
When Wilson returned to social media after Heart’s tour wrapped, she found Facebook awash in AI-generated fakes of her: images of her fainting on stage, comforting Ariana Grande, brawling with Joy Behar on The View. In February 2026 she took the complaint to CNN, describing content she called “shocking and weird and not true” — and, at its worst, vicious. One fabricated post showed her husband dead in a hospital bed with Wilson weeping over him; his own daughter saw it and called in a panic.

The fakes are a business problem as well as a personal one: Wilson said the imagery confuses fans about what Heart is actually doing and has hurt ticket sales. The band warned its audience and reported the pages to Meta — and, she told CNN, got nothing back: “Nothing’s changed. In fact, it just keeps on going towards the worse.” Her stand made her one of the most prominent classic-rock voices to publicly confront a platform over AI-generated impersonation.
