Biography
Kangana Ranaut (born 1987) is one of Hindi cinema’s most acclaimed and outspoken actresses, a multiple National Film Award winner who in 2024 was elected to the Lok Sabha as a BJP Member of Parliament from Mandi.

In late December 2025 Ranaut took to Instagram to protest a flood of AI-manipulated photographs of her — images that swapped her actual saris for suits and other outfits she says she never wore near Parliament, along with altered makeup and edited faces. She framed the manipulation not as flattery or fun but as a violation of her right to control her own image.
Please stop with these AI edits and let me choose and decide how I want to look and what I want to wear. It is entirely my prerogative.
Her objection joins a growing wave of Indian public figures — actors and politicians alike — pushing back on generative tools that fabricate their appearance without consent, echoing the personality-rights battles waged by stars such as Anil Kapoor.
