Rahul Vohra
Founder-CEO of Superhuman
Founder-CEO of the email client Superhuman, who rebuilt the product around AI drafting and triage and is steering it toward autonomous email agents — an unabashed believer that AI is the future of the inbox.
In his words
That kind of an agent will free us all up to be more creative, strategic, and impactful.
Our average user uses Write with AI 37 times per week, which is so much more than we thought they would.
Biography
Rahul Vohra is a British software entrepreneur who built Rapportive, a Gmail contact plugin acquired by LinkedIn in 2012, before founding Superhuman — a premium email client obsessed with speed and keyboard-driven workflow. Vohra is also known in startup circles for popularising the “product-market fit engine,” a survey-based method for measuring whether users would be “very disappointed” to lose a product.
Rebuilding email as AI-native
As large language models matured, Vohra moved fast to fold them into Superhuman: AI-written drafts, auto-triage, and instant summaries. He frames the mission in terms of reclaiming the trillion hours a year the world loses to email, and reports that Superhuman users answer roughly 72% more emails per hour. After Superhuman was acquired by Grammarly in 2024, Vohra began steering the combined company toward a unified, AI-native productivity suite spanning email, calendar, tasks, and agents.
That kind of an agent will free us all up to be more creative, strategic, and impactful.
Vohra’s vision is squarely optimistic: agents that triage, schedule, write, and send on your behalf, leaving humans to the strategic work. Critics of inbox automation worry about tone-deaf AI replies and the erosion of the personal in personal correspondence, but Vohra bets that the time saved is worth the tradeoff — and that users will keep a hand on the wheel.
