Biography
Bogdan Nesvit is a Ukrainian entrepreneur who studied political science at Oxford and economics at UCL, interned at UN headquarters in New York, and then co-founded Holywater Tech in Kyiv in March 2020 with Anatolii Kasianov. What began as a seven-person startup now employs more than 200 people and runs three linked products: the e-book app My Passion, the vertical microdrama service My Drama, and My Muse, whose series are generated rather than filmed. In January 2026 the company raised $22 million led by Horizon Capital, the largest disclosed microdrama round outside Asia.
Leading the disruption
Nesvit’s account of why an app full of human actors built an AI sibling is unusually direct: the threat was coming, so the company decided to be it.
We asked ourselves, “Who will disrupt us?” And the answer was obvious: companies that figure out how to generate books and video series with AI. We didn’t want to be disrupted—we wanted to lead the disruption.
The workflow tests an AI-written book on readers first and promotes the winners into AI-generated series, with ten episodes producible in about five days at a fraction of filmed cost. Nesvit is candid that the output does not hold up on a television — it is built for a phone — and equally confident that the gap closes with time.
AI-generated content is janky today, but in a few years, it won’t be.
At Owl & Co.’s Vertical Media Summit in June 2026 he reported the number that unsettles the actors’ side of this argument: My Muse’s AI series match My Drama’s live-action shows on retention, conversion, and engagement. It is the empirical counterweight to Brittany Marsicek’s prediction that audiences cannot discipline the format, and to the hope that viewers will simply reject synthetic performers.
