Biography
Deepak Chopra (born 1946) is a physician-turned-author who became one of the world’s best-known figures in alternative medicine and spirituality, with more than ninety books to his name. A longtime enthusiast of consciousness-and-technology crossover, he embraced AI as a way to extend his reach.
Digital Deepak
Chopra built “Digital Deepak,” an interactive AI chatbot trained on his decades of books and talks that answers users’ questions and speaks back in a synthetic version of his own voice, created with the voice-AI company ElevenLabs. In 2024 he extended the partnership so listeners could hear articles and e-books narrated in his cloned voice, and by 2025 he was promoting an AI “companion” modeled on his life’s work.
Now I can connect on a deeper level with a global audience as I make my teachings available for everyone in my own voice.
The move drew the same scrutiny that follows all of Chopra’s ventures — critics who see wellness branding wrapped around new technology — but on AI his position is unambiguous: he actively builds with it and voluntarily licensed his own likeness and voice, the opposite of the non-consensual cloning that alarms other public figures.
