Biography
Jared Leto (born 1971) is an Academy Award-winning actor — Dallas Buyers Club, plus roles in blockbusters and prestige films — and the frontman of the rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars, which he leads with his brother Shannon. That double life as movie star and touring musician has made him an early adopter of technology on both the screen and the stage.
Scanning eyeballs to beat the bots
In 2026, Leto’s band teamed with World — the iris-scanning identity venture from Sam Altman’s Tools for Humanity — to reserve a block of “human-verified” tickets for its European tour. Fans in cities like London, Berlin, and Munich who visit a World “orb” to prove they are real people (not scalper bots) unlock two-for-one tickets and merch perks. Leto framed it as protecting the fan experience: live music is about connection, he said, and too often automated bots snap up seats before real people can.
