Biography
Kid Rock (Robert James Ritchie, born 1971) built a multi-platinum career fusing rap, rock and country, and in recent years became one of music’s most visible supporters of Donald Trump.
“If you nail one, I’ll give you a piece of it”
In a late-2025 conversation about AI, Kid Rock waved away the panic gripping much of the music industry. Rather than fight AI systems trained to imitate his voice, he said he hoped someone would produce a genuinely good AI Kid Rock song — and offered to cut them in if they did.

His calculus is that of a road warrior: recorded songs, AI or not, are a means to an end, and the real money is at the gate. “I get to go sing that live and we make the majority of our money live,” he reasoned — treating AI as “another tool” to be figured out rather than banned. It is a stance at odds with the many artists demanding consent and licensing rules.
