Ibai Llanos (born 1995 in Bilbao) went from League of Legends esports caster to the most-watched Spanish-language streamer in the world, co-founding the KOI esports club with Gerard Piqué and staging La Velada del Año, the influencer boxing event that has repeatedly broken Twitch’s all-time concurrent-viewership records.

A face worth stealing

That reach made his likeness prime raw material for AI fraud. Through 2024 and 2025, deepfake video ads circulating on social platforms cloned Ibai’s face and voice to push cryptocurrency investment scams such as “Bitcoin Up,” fabricating endorsements he never gave. He responded by categorically denying any connection, describing the campaigns as organized fraud exploiting his audience’s trust, urging followers to report the ads, and putting his legal team on the case — while noting, as coverage of the wave emphasized, how hard it is to shut down operations hosted outside Spanish jurisdiction. His cloned voice has even turned up in phone scams asking victims for money transfers.

In December 2025 the absurdist edge of the same problem went viral: during a trip through Peru and Chile, AI-generated photos of Ibai posing in restaurants he had never visited flooded social media, convincing enough that he had to debunk them on stream — assuring even his own mother the images were fake. The episode turned him into one of Spain’s most visible object lessons in how generative AI erodes the evidentiary value of images.

Ibai’s fight is with impersonation rather than the technology as a whole, placing him alongside victims of AI likeness abuse like Scarlett Johansson in the debate over consent and identity rights in the deepfake era.
