The face of the 2018 Fortnite boom and streaming’s biggest mainstream brand warned in 2025 that AI video like Google’s Veo will make streaming “impossible” within a year unless every generated clip carries an unremovable watermark.

Unless they make it so that every single AI video, like those Veos, unless there’s a watermark that cannot be removed or scrubbed or covered up, within the next six months to a year, streaming will be impossible.

Biography
Richard Tyler Blevins (b. 1991) turned a professional Halo career into the biggest personal brand streaming has ever produced. His 2018 Fortnite sessions with Drake and Travis Scott shattered viewership records, he was the first Twitch streamer past three million followers, and his 2019 exclusive move to Microsoft’s Mixer reportedly earned tens of millions before the platform folded and he returned to Twitch in 2020. He beat a melanoma diagnosis in 2024.
“It’s gonna be GGs”
In June 2025, after a Veo 3-generated clip of a fake Fortnite streamer celebrating a victory royale went viral with over two million views, Ninja told his stream that convincing AI video had arrived faster than anyone was ready for. Without watermarks that cannot be scrubbed off, he argued, viewers will soon be unable to tell a real streamer moment from a fabricated one — “It’s gonna be over. It’s gonna be GGs.”
Imagine all the people that are clickbaiting and trying to ruin streamers’ careers already. Imagine if they just type in a prompt.
His fear is specific: deepfakes of streamers saying career-ending things, spread by the same clickbait economy that already stalks them. It is a live-streamer’s version of the impersonation worries voiced across entertainment, from Scarlett Johansson’s fight over AI voices to the deepfake scandals that have hit Twitch itself. Google does embed SynthID watermarks and a visible “veo” mark in Veo output — but third-party tools for stripping visible marks appeared almost immediately, which is precisely the gap Ninja is pointing at.
