In her words

They can put any kind of words in your mouth that they want. And people will believe it. It’s hard to tell what’s AI and what’s not.

Biography

Rosie O’Donnell (born 1962) is a comedian, actor, and television personality who hosted the Emmy-winning “Rosie O’Donnell Show” and co-hosted “The View.” A prolific and outspoken presence online, she has become a frequent target of AI-generated fakery.

A target of deepfakes

In November 2025, after a fabricated video circulated showing her attacking other celebrities, O’Donnell took to TikTok to warn fans that the clip was AI-generated and to be wary of how “confusing and really dangerous” the technology can be. She reiterated the concern in 2026 after President Trump posted an AI deepfake video mocking her and other critics, telling CNN the fakes showed an unhealthy fixation.

Her warnings are grounded in personal experience: as someone whose image is repeatedly synthesized to put words in her mouth, she has become a firsthand witness to how convincingly the tools can fabricate a public figure.
