Biography
David Eves is an actor working in vertical microdramas, the one-to-two-minute serials that became a rare growth area for jobbing performers as conventional film and TV production shrank. The apps distributing them compete almost entirely on social advertising, which is where his likeness went somewhere he had not agreed to go.
A threesome he never shot
Someone sent Eves an ad for “Turn the Mafia’s Virgin Wife On,” a vertical he had appeared in. It showed him in a threesome. He never filmed such a scene and said he would not have consented to one. The damage he identified was not to the shoot but to everyone who would see the clip and assume he had signed off on it.
Not everyone knows I didn’t agree to do that.
He concluded that contacting Anyreel, the platform carrying the ad, would be a waste of time, and took the practical route instead: his next contract will carry AI protections. That is the same conclusion Haley Lohrli reached, and the opposite of the position Evan Gambardella found himself in months later, when an AI series wore his face and he had no clause to point to.
Eves spoke out alongside Tess Dinerstein and Faith Orta in May 2026. Entertainment lawyer Jonathan Handel, quoted in the same report, explained why so few of these cases go anywhere: a standard actor contract grants the producer broad rights over image and voice, so the fight is about leverage rather than law.
